Morgan Wallen shares new song idea on social media Looks like Nashville

After taking the time to reflect on his recent controversies, Morgan Wallen felt inspired to write a song and share his thoughts through new music.

Wallen posted his latest lyric attempt on IGTV Video, noting that he wrote the track with his mother in mind. He titled her “I Thought You Should Know” and explained how she has been a support system during her tough times.

What is happening to mum / Something just happened to me / I haven’t been home for a few months / I chased songs and women / I made bad decisions / God knows that I drink too much,“Wallen sings while playing his acoustic guitar.

He goes on to ask her how things are at home and if she is alright before revealing how her love has made such a solid impact in her life.

I thought you should know that all those prayers you thought you wasted on me / finally had to make their way / I thought you should know that I really love this girl in Jefferson City and it turns out that ‘she’s a lot like you,»He adds in the final chorus.

Several country music artists commented on the song’s social media debut, with Dustin Lynch sending a “Hell yes” of support and Old Dominion calling it “Pretty awesome”. Miranda Lambert even stumbled upon the video and revealed her hand in creating the song.

“Thank you for allowing me and @nicatnitemusic to write this special song with you. Sounds awesome, ”she wrote.

Wallen has been fairly calm in the industry since a video of him using racist slurs surfaced in February. It also made a lot of noise when it was cut from its original Saturday Night Live debuts in October 2020 after being seen partying without social distancing or wearing a mask on social media videos. He was then asked in December, where he apologized and even made fun of himself for his actions amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wallen has not confirmed whether or not he will release a studio version of “Thought You Should Know”.
