The 39-year-old took the lead early on by correctly answering ten questions on her specialist subject – Kylie Minogue.
But it was the general knowledge round that gave the Port-Glasgow-born singer the Mastermind victory.
Jean finished the round with an impressive 19 points, earning him the Mastermind Trophy.
But it was one of his answers that caught the attention of fans.

Jean was asked by host Clive Myrie about alcoholic beverages.
He asked: “In 1887 Percy Bulmer, the son of a Herefordshire clergyman, set up a business making what liquor?”
The A Place In The Sun host had him guessing, saying, “Buckfast.”
Clive then revealed that the answer was actually cider, but that didn’t stop fans from appreciating Jean’s nod to the popular tonic wine north of the border.
A fan took to social media saying, “Buckfast, well done!”
Another said: “Buckfast! Make the Scots proud Jean.”
A third commented: ‘Responded like a true Glasgowian, Buckfast!’
A fourth commented: “Well done Jean, loved Buckfast’s response.”

After her win on the show, Jean said her winning Mastermind would make her dad proud – after revealing the pair often watch the show together.
She said: “This is a huge win for daytime TV presenters and I’ve finally made my dad proud after all these years.”
