New Delhi, April 7 (KNN) More than 28.68 crore in loans amounting to Rs 14.96 lakh crore have been sanctioned by banks, non-bank financial companies (NBFC) and microfinance institutions (MFIs) since the launch of Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY).
“The Ministry of Finance is committed to providing financial inclusion and support to marginalized and heretofore socio-economically neglected classes. The financial needs of all stakeholders, from budding entrepreneurs to hard-working farmers, have also been met through various initiatives, ”the finance ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
“A key initiative in this direction is Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), which has given wings to the dreams and aspirations of millions of people, as well as a sense of self-esteem and independence,” the statement added. .
PMMY was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 8, 2015 to provide loans of up to Rs 10 lakh to non-commercial, non-agricultural small or micro-enterprises.
