Singer-turned-politician Abrarul Haq’s controversial comment about young mothers playing “Baby Shark Doo Doo” has caused a storm on social media. Her comments on modern parenting at the PTI celebratory event last week sparked debate not only among the general public but also among celebrities.
Addressing a PTI convention Thursday, Abrarul Haq criticized modern mothers who give gadgets to their children.
Her quip about mothers playing the Baby Shark song might have pleased some people, but it didn’t please everyone who heard it.
In the excerpt from the video posted by Ansar Abbasi, Abrar says he was consoled by his mother with the kalma as mothers today hand a phone to a baby who hears the popular song Baby Shark, which he says. then sang. The crowd – seated at the August 26 event celebrating the PTI’s three years in government – admired him for his singing and feelings.
While celebrities such as model Nadia Hussain and actor Yasir Hussain criticized the singer’s comment, actor Zarnish Khan and singer Shafqat Amanat Ali stood up for Haq.
Nadia reacted to the video on Twitter and slammed the singer. “I don’t know how you go from listening to your mother’s Kalma to a song like Nach Punjaban or Billo De Ghar,” she said on Twitter, referring to the singer’s popular songs about women. .
Yasir supported Nadia by sharing her review on social media. “You hit the nail on the head. Good, ”he said on Instagram Stories.
Khan didn’t seem to share the same feelings though. She criticized those who made personal attacks on Haq’s character in light of her comments.
In the excerpt from the video posted by Ansar Abbasi, Abrar says he was consoled by his mother with the kalma as mothers today hand a phone to a baby who hears the popular song “Baby shark”, which ‘he then sang.
“If someone says a good thing, let’s call it that,” she told Instagram Stories. “Let’s not ignore what they said and let’s not judge all their lives. If this continues, we will have to practice going deaf.
Ali also commented in Haq’s defense on a Galaxy Lollywood post on Instagram. “Abrarul Haq didn’t say anything bad. He did not shame the mothers or the women here. He has just spoken the truth which includes us all! It should open our eyes rather than give him a fit. We don’t have to criticize everything, ”he wrote.
“The songs Nach Punjaban and Billo De Ghar weren’t from the singer in his mother’s lap at the age of one,” Ali continued. “He’s talking about raising kids here, not someone’s profession. It’s a person’s choice whether they want to be a singer or an actor when they grow up.
Celebrity comments seemed to divide the internet even further.
Several more took to Twitter to express their views, from disappointment to support. Some people just couldn’t understand Abrar’s point of view.
Many shared Adel Afzal’s response to Abrar’s post in which he said the singer should then make an album with children’s lullabies instead of criticizing Baby Shark.
One user criticized the singer and wrote, “Comparing Baby Shark to Kalimah is just plain stupid! Ibrar mocked himself to please his boss by joining him in accusing mothers / wives of covering up crimes against women under this government, especially in Punjab.
While a few users joked about the video, one wrote, “Someone sent me the Abrarul Haq video, well the jokes are on them. I recite the kalma first, then I sing Baby Shark to my niece. Deen bhe aur dunya bhe, brother ”
Abrar currently hosts a spirituality talk show.
